Pekin and Sigourney Community School District To Share Superintendent

The Sigourney Board of Directors has agreed to share Superintendent, Dave Harper with Pekin Community School District for the 2016-2017 school year. This will be a 50/50 sharing agreement and will be on a year-to-year basis.

Harper states, “It was my personal choice to do this for no increase in salary and as a leader if any tightening of the belt needs to be done, it needs to be made starting at the top. I feel that I will be able to continue to meet our needs and I will remain visible and approachable within the district.   We are still sitting sound financially, but we need to make sure we are proactive in protecting our General Fund.”
