15 Cobras voted among District 5's best

Postseason awards were announced this past week for Class 1A’s District 5 football district — home of the Sigourney-Keota Cobras. 15 Cobras, comprising of eight seniors, four juniors, and three sophomores, earned distinctions recognizing them amongst the elite performers in District 5 this past season. S-K head coach Jared Jensen praised this group of players for their efforts.

“This group of guys that received these All District accolades did so by their commitment and dedication to success, but also by being leaders and getting the team to buy in to playing as one … Everybody on this team had a role that got us to where we were. If it weren’t for everyone’s efforts large or small, we wouldn’t have been in the position we were throughout the season.”

Senior quarterback J.D. Stout capped his high school football career with a first-team All District selection, leading the district in rushing yards with 1,490 and rushing touchdowns with 23. Stout contributed six catches for 87 yards and two touchdowns in the receiving game as well. He also threw for a touchdown.
