Berg announced as new Tri-County principal

Thornburg- Jennifer Berg is officially the new principal at Tri-County schools. The board voted to approve her hiring, at a salary of $70,000. Board member Ryan Hull was the only dissenting vote. Berg takes over for Clay Harrold, who is leaving Tri-County for a principal position in the Grinnell School District. Berg is a current Tri-County School District employee, having served as a Kindergarten teacher for the past 14 years. She holds a Bachelors degree from Iowa State University, and a Masters in Educational Leadership from Viterbo. Berg said that she is humbled to be selected for the position.

“I appreciate the continued support of the students, staff, families, and community as I transition into this new adventure,” Berg said.

Berg will start her new position at the start of the 2018-2019 school year. She believes that her biggest strength that she brings to her new role will be a genuine concern and care for students.

“When we focus on our youth and put them first, we can accomplish anything,” Berg said. “I am thrilled and determined to continue to help students strive and grow at our school as well as help them obtain the necessary education they deserve.”

Berg also added that she looks to continue to enhance the partnership between the community and the school district when she moves into her new role.
