Brady Millikin leads Panthers to win Sigourney Relays
The long-distance runners for Pekin had themselves a night on the Sigourney track for the Sigourney Relays on April 23. Brady Millikin and Colten Glosser combined for 50.50 team points, more than one-third of their final 148 points team score to win the meet.
Millikin won the 800m run with a time of 2:09.17 and the 3200m run at 10:07.98 (personal best). He almost made it a three-peat in the 1600m run but was edged out by Glosser at the end with Glosser running a time of 4:55.35 and Millikin finishing with 4:55.73. Glosser finished in second with a time of 10:42.02 in the 3200m run as well.
The Panthers came close to winning several other events including Dayne Eckley’s second-place finish in the 100m dash with 11.66 seconds. Devin Fraise also finished third in the 110m hurdles at 17.52 seconds and third in the Long Jump at 20’, a new personal best.
Pekin rattled off three wins in relay events including the 4x400m, 4x800m and 440m shuttle hurdle relay. Kevin Rohr, Tanner Conger, Brady Latcham and Kennan Winn ran a time of 3:50.78 in the 4x400m relay, setting a new personal best. Colten Bishop, Conger, Chandler Stull and Millikin combined for a time of 9:55.48 in the 4x800m relay, leading wire to wire, and Lathe Crochet, Quinn Ledger, Cole Earnest and Fraise ran a time of 1:05.35 in the 440m shuttle hurdle relay.
