Cobras Clicking at the Right Time

Just because a team comes into town without a win, doesn’t mean the game’s going to be an easy one.

West Marshall entered Friday’s game with Sigourney-Keota with an 0-8 record, but the Cobras took the Trojans just as seriously as any other opponent.

“ We didn’t want to overlook them, being an 0-8 team,” said senior lineman Gage Greiner. “They’re one of the best 0-8 teams we’ve seen, so we wanted to come out with a good head on our shoulders and play to the best of our ability.”

That focused mindset gave the Cobras the edge they needed, propelling them to a 48-14 win and allowing their starters to rest in the fourth quarter, with Wednesday’s playoff game at West Branch on the horizon.
