Dylan Seaton named Second Team All-State

The Tri-County Trojans had one of their senior football players recently recognized for his leadership and achievements on the field this past season. Dylan Seaton was named as part of the 8-man football All-State Second Team. Players were voted on by members of the Iowa Newspaper Association.

In his final season, Seaton was one of the top tacklers for the Trojans, finishing with 36 tackles, 22 solo and one sack. He also showed his quick-play abilities, by leading the team with two fumble recoveries.

"Many coaches at the district meeting commented how much trouble they had blocking him at the nose guard position on the defensive line," Trojan coach Scott Edmundson said. "He has worked hard in the weight room and went out for track to improve his speed and strength."

Seaton was also a stout force on the offensive line, helping make holes for the running backs and give his quarterback some time to make plays. He also had the duties of making sure the rest of his line mates were in their correct positions, while executing clean snaps to the quarterback.

"Dylan got better with each game and worked hard to improve his fundamentals," Edmundson said. "It is great to see him get this recognition for his effort and hard work. He's also a very good student off the field."
