Eagles fall at home versus Tigerhawks

KEOTA — As the season has moved along, so has the progress of Keota’s volleyball team. Winners of two of their last four games — after failing to capture a win in their first nine contests — Sky Hahn’s team has looked rejuvenated, and at times, like a different team entirely. But some old habits returned on Monday, and the Eagles were swept in straight sets by Colfax-Mingo, 25-16, 27-25, and 25-13.

Keota fell behind early in the first set 7-2. The Tigerhawks extended that lead to 15-6 before Hahn decided to talk it over with her squad in a timeout. The Eagles clawed their way back to a 17-12 deficit, forcing C-M to take a timeout of their own. A ceiling ball bounced in Keota’s favor on the first point out of the timeout, a sign that the momentum might be turning. However, the Tigerhawks would eventually close out the set handily.
