English Valleys golf host’s Belle Plaine at Knoll Ridge

NORTH ENGLISH- The boys squad for EV golf shot a season-best 179 on the day on Tuesday, April 11 when EV hosted Belle Plaine in both boys and girls golf action. The girls cruised to an easy victory as BP had only one golfer, and the boys fell by ten-strokes despite again having four golfers in the 40’s.

Jeff Montgomery shot a 43 on the day for EV while Cooper Andreassen shot a 44 as did Daniel Tapken. Wyatt Olson shot a 48 to register the fourth counted score for the Bears.

Grace Conrad and Lexie Miller led the way for the Lady Bears with 53’s. Jaden Pfannebecker shot a 61 and Mallory Hester a 64 to help bring home a well played girls round of gold for the Lady Bears.

The boys fall to 4-3 now on the season, and the girls 3-2 in duals and meets. Head golf coach for EV, Jeff Kingland, has been very pleased with both his girls and guys golfers to say the least, “Both boys and girls have improved their team score every meet. We are moving in the right direction.” Kingland continued, “Cooper Andreassen shot another 44 along with Daniel Tapken to lead us to a season low team score of 179, Daniel’s previous low round was a 49.” Kingland finished up by saying, “I'm pleased with the progress everyone is making in improving their game. The kids have been working hard and are evident in their scores.”
