Ten teams competed at the Iowa Mennonite cross country meet on August 29, English Valleys being one of them. On the girls side they had positive finishes, resulting in an eighth-place finish.

The girls were led by Brooke Coffman and Clara Mews, both finished in the top-25. Coffman took 19th place with a time of 24:05.71 and Mews wasn't far behind in 23rd place, with a time of 24:50.63.

Three other girls finished in the top 50. Liberty Lightfoot (38) finished with a time of 26:19.41, Megan Glandon (43) finished with a time of 27:06.50 and Isabel Schneider (47) finished with a time of 27:42.35.

The boys saw similar success with two of their four runners, Jacob Glandon and Charlie Axmear. Jacob finished in 22nd with a time of 19:30.27 and Axmear finished with a time of 20:37.46, putting him in 30th place.

Tanner Mihal (57) ran a time of 23:03.85 and Sage Coffman (68) rounded out the team with a time of 24:41.86.

"The gaps between out runners was impressive," said head coach Breann Coffman. "The girls finished closer than the boys, but we will work on that."
