EV golf sees girls take first and boys second at Lynnville-Sully

SULLY- The EV golf squad had a fantastic day at Lynnville-Sully on Thursday, April 6, as the girls took first place over L-S and BGM. The boys took second place on the day.

The girls shot a total of 234, while L-S shot 11 strokes behind with a 245. BGM scored a 257 to come in third. Grace Conrad played very well despite being under the weather as she medaled on the day with her 54. Lexie Miller came through with a 58, while Mallory Hester and Jaden Pfannebecker both shot 61’s to help lead the Lady Bears to victory. “Grace did a great job despite feeling ill.  Didn't think she was going to golf at all but decided to play a couple of holes to see how it would go. Great job of gutting it out and lead her team to wins over LVS and BGM.” Said EV golf coach Jeff Kingland about his girls team’s effort Thursday.

The boys shot a 194, only three strokes behind BGM for first. Will Tapken shot a very nice 45, while his younger brother Daniel shot a 49. Jeff Montgomery and Cooper Andreassen both shot even 50’s to help lead the Bears to a good second place finish. “I’m pleased with the progress thus far despite the limited amount of time we have had to practice this spring.” Said Coach Kingland about his boys and girls squads.
