EV readies Homecoming festivities

            English Valleys have begun celebrating their 2017 Homecoming this week, with plenty events still coming up for this week.

According to Charles Nachtman, Class of 2018 sponsor, the Homecoming Spirit Days for "Homecoming 2017: Clash of the Valleys” this year are as follows: Monday-Sports Day, Tuesday-Twin/Dynamic Duo Day, Wednesday-Class Color Day, Thursday-Fictional Character Day, Friday-Blue and Gold Day. The colors for Class Color Day are black for seniors, white for juniors, pink for sophomores, red for freshman, purple for eighth graders and green for seventh graders.

Changes were considered for this year, including one pep rally night this year.  The pep rally begins in the new gym at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 27. A king and queen will be crowned during the festivities and students will compete in games.

The Homecoming Parade will begin at the high school at 2:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 29.  The route will be east on Broad St., South on Highland St., East on Clark St. past the elementary school, North on Main St., West on Washington St. past the EV Care Center and then South on Knoll Ridge back to the high school. 

A “Clash of Valleys” will take place between the EV football team and Easton Valley on Friday, 7 p.m, with the Homecoming dance beginning at 9 p.m. to midnight in the school cafeteria.
