J.J. Nichting brings century of service to Sigourney

The familiar name of J.J. Nichting has come to Sigourney after purchasing Keokuk County Implement on December 1 but promises to provide quality service that has come to be expected.

“We are pleased to serve the Keokuk, Iowa and Washington County areas the same friendly, knowledgeable service they had before with Keokuk County Implement,” Tom Weltes, Location Manager said. ““Farm equipment now is getting so sophisticated and advanced that we are striving to raise the level of technology at this location.”

The purchase of Keokuk County Implement came as previous owner Jim Eversmeyer announced his was selling business after 20+ years in Sigourney and providing services to Keokuk County.

“[Jim] decided it was time for a change and we were very fortunate to be able to get together to take over a very successful business for many years,” Weltes said. “Jim is well-known and respected in the community and has done a nice job.”

According to Weltes, J.J. Nichting has retained a majority of former employees and added several new staff members to provide parts, sales and service to Keokuk, Iowa and Washington Counties, plus new opportunities to the area through contracts with Stieger and Quadtrac through Case IH.
