Keokuk Republicans host fall dinner

Homemade soup and political talk were on the menu last Saturday night as the Keokuk County Central Committee hosted their annual fall dinner at the senior center.

County Chairman Tom Grove kicked off the event with an opening prayer, followed by Mike Hadley leading the Pledge of Allegiance.

After dinner, State chairman Jeff Kaufmann gave a spirited speech about the current Iowa and national political scene. Kaufmann was followed by congressional candidates: Steven Everly, Marianette Miller-Meeks, and Bobby Schilling. Local sheriff candidates Doug Conrad and Casey Hinnah were also in attendance. All candidates give a brief personal bio, and then spoke about how they view the political environment. After the speakers finished, Tom Grove gave some closing comments and thanked everyone for attending.
