Late rally comes up short for Bears

English Valleys got into an early hole at Lynnville-Sully on June 13 and despite making a comeback late, was unable to get a win on the road. Lynnville-Sully finished off the Bears after EV rallied to end the game in four innings with a score of 14-4.

Lynnville-Sully jumped out to an early lead against the Bears with five runs in the opening inning. Cael Hester cooled down on the mound after giving up the early runs, allowing Lynnville-Sully to score one more run in the bottom of the second inning. Neither team would score in the third inning and the deficit was six runs as the rally began for the Bears in the top of the fourth.

The bottom half of the batting order managed to get on base with some consecutive hits, which eventually led to runs being plated. Four Bears got home in the top of the fourth and cut down their deficit to two runs. Lynnville-Sully responded with eight runs in the bottom of the fourth to end the game at 14-4.

    EV leaders: Tanner Mihal/Beau Flander/Brayden Mikesell/Jacob Glandon/Kaden Hall – 1 hit, Brayden Mikesell/Jacob Glandon/Cooper Andreassen/Kaden Hall – 1 run, Tanner Mihal – 2 RBIs, Tanner Mihal 1 SB, Cael Hester – 2 Ks

The Bears next hosted Sigourney on June 18 before taking to the road to play HLV on June 19 and Keota on June 20.
