Little arrested for Criminal Mischief

            Clint Little of What Cheer was arrested on Thursday, Feb. 15 by the Keokuk County Sheriff’s Office for Criminal Mischief in the 1st Degree.

            According to a criminal complaint, Little cut wires and cables on a telephone pole located on the 100 block of West Willow Street in What Cheer under the ownership of Mediacom for internet and cable service. The criminal complaint further stated that the defendant “admitted to cutting the wires and cables on the telephone pole because they felt they were effecting his AM/FM radio at his residence.” Several residents were reported to have lost cable and internet services.

            Little was taken into custody and is being held in the Keokuk County Jail. Criminal Mischief in the 1st Degree is punishable up to 10 years prison and fines ranging from $1,000 to $10,000 according to Iowa Code 716.3. Accused are presumed innocent until proven guilty. This incident remains under investigation and more details will be released as they become available.
