Loebsack tours KCMC, Radiology Dept.

U.S. Congressman Dave Loebsack made a visit to Sigourney to tour Keokuk County Health Center and its latest facilities on Friday, Feb. 24, also discussing the possibility of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) being repealed and the growing issues with Managed Care Organizations.

Congressman Loebsack and District Representative Bri Dennison were shown the new Mammography equipment in the Radiology Department of Keokuk County Health Center as CEO Matt Ives talked about the improvements the hospital has made since Loebsack’s last visit a year ago. The tour continued upstairs, where the congressman was shown the new medical clinic and spoke with several employees.

“I’m glad they were able to work out the situation with the University of Iowa for the clinic,” Loebsack said. “There’s clearly a need in rural Iowa and rural America for these kinds of facilities. A big part of what I need to do while I’m in Washington D.C. is fight for these kinds of facilities because without them, rural Iowans would have to travel unnecessary distances to get basic care.”
