Pekin hires Gingerich as Principal

Pekin Jr/Sr High School will have a brand-new face patrolling the hallways and spreading the Panthers credo this fall as Clint Gingerich has been selected as the next 7-12 Principal.

Gingerich currently works as an Instructional Coach and coached baseball at Oskaloosa High School and interviewed for the position on Monday, Feb. 26 with several other candidates in front of the Board of Education.

“I’ve been really impressed with all the people at Pekin I’ve interacted with,” Gingerich said. “The board seems to value the same things I value as far as having a good moral compass, high expectations and making the best opportunities for the students.”

For Gingerich, Pekin is not an unfamiliar name. While attending and playing for Iowa Mennonite School, he competed again Pekin several times, noting the way the athletes “carried themselves” in a way he described as making each game enjoyable.

“When I visited the school for the position, I got that close-knit community feel I enjoy and was impressed with how the students still carry themselves in the school,” Gingerich said.
