SCSD Welcomes Superintendent David Harper

David Harper is not an unfamiliar face around Sigourney — in fact he has lived just down the road for his entire 16 years in education and has been a volunteer at Sigourney Elementary School with his wife Crista, who is currently a kindergarten teacher.

Harper has agreed to take the reins of the Sigourney Community School District as superintendent beginning July of 2014. He currently serves as principal at Evans Middle School, Ottumwa and prior to that he held three titles with Pekin Community Schools: special education teacher, assistant principal and high school principal and he is a retired member of the Iowa National Guard.
