SICL Champs!

Taking about doing something is easy; going out and doing it, on the other hand, isn’t.

            The Keota varsity volleyball team didn’t do much talking, before the season started, about winning the South Iowa Cedar League, but now that the Eagles have won it, they’re doing all kinds of talking, and they deserve to.

            “It’s pretty awesome,” said Keota’s Madison Sheetz, about winning the SICL for the first time since 2010. “I never thought this was going to happen this year, but it’s pretty awesome that it did. We’d all kind of hoped [to win the conference], but we never really thought it would happen. So now that it did, we’re all kind of shocked.”

            Sheetz, a senior outside hitter, led her Eagles (17-6, 10-0) into Victor last Monday to face the HLV Warriors (5-13, 2-8) and try to win an outright conference title.
