Sigourney boys take third at Warhawk Relays, girls track finishes in fifth

NEW SHARON- The Sigourney boys and girls were on the road Thursday, April 6 when they ran at the Warhawk Relays at North Mahaska High School. The team canceled their trip to Lynnville-Sully on Tuesday, April 4 due to their teammate, Cale Jarmes, visitation being that day, allowing his classmates and friends to pay their respects to the family. The boys took third, falling only to North Mahaska and Montezuma. The girls took fifth, as Colfax-Mingo took the girls title with NM and Monte rounding out the top three. Pella Christian, BGM, Iowa Valley and Tri-County also participated Thursday. On the girls side, as a team they racked up 81 total points. Autum Barthelman took the gold in the 100 M dash, with a 12.53 second time. The Lady Savages failed to place in the 200 M event, as was the case in the 400 M. In the 100 M hurdles however, Barthelman was back at it winning with a 15.68 time. Heidi Clarahan took fourth in the event clocking in at 18.34 seconds.
