Sigourney council candidates unopposed

When the filing deadline came and went and the dust had settled, all of the Sigourney City Council candidates found themselves running unopposed.

Incumbents Ed Conrad, 1st ward city councilor; Connie McLaughlin, 3rd Ward city councilor; and Jimmy Morlan, at-large city councilor all did not field a challenger. Additionally, as previously reported, no candidates filed to run for Sigourney 4th ward city council.

Questions that they were asked:

1. Why are you running for mayor/city council/school board?

2. What are your qualifications for the position you seek? 3. What is the biggest challenge facing town/school district and what is the solution?

4. Is your community/school district moving in the right or your direction, in your view? Why?

5. What is your vision for the community/school district over the next 5-10 years?

6. Why should residents vote for you?

7. What is your background?

8. Is there anything else you would like to say?
