Sigourney prepares for SICL cross country with final regular season meet

The Savages and Lady Savages kicked off their last regular season cross country meet when they traveled over to Iowa Mennonite on October 1, with the boys finishing 10th and the girls finishing 16th.

A half-dozen Lady Savages ran at IMS, led by two of their veteran runners in Summer Barthelman and Lainey Graff, both of whom have continued to run quality times. Barthelman ran a time of 26:03.61 to take 89th place in what was her final regular season cross country meet for Sigourney. Graff wasn’t far behind, clocking in at the 26:54.22 mark to finish in 106th place. Megan Stuhr was around one minute behind Graff, finishing with a time of 27:53.23 to take 121st place.

Other Lady Savages to run included Morgan Clubb (31:06.39) who finished in 149th, Bree Atwood (32:28.20) who finished in 156th and Cami Thompson (33:21.69) rounded out the group in 160th place.

On the boys’ side, Tristan Bell ran the best time, clocking in at 19:46.30 to take 44th place. Mason Moore had another solid meet, finishing in 59th place after running a time of 20:06.11. Jake Ives, another upperclassmen on the team, finished in 111th place with a time of 22:20.94.

Other Savages to run were Dawson Webster (23:27.39) finished 129th, Trace Bell (23:30.86) finished in 132nd, Maltese Thomas (24:48.76) finished 147th and Ricky Danowsky (26:42.50) finished in 165th place.

Both teams were back in action on October11 for the SICL XC meet at BGM.
