Sigourney Stomps NM on Senior Night

Jordan Carter, Emily Sande, Brooke Schroeder and Mallory Shaw all played their final regular season home match last Thursday, when the Sigourney varsity volleyball team hosted North Mahaska.

            The emotional Senior Night matchup with the Warhawks represented a chance for Sigourney’s four seniors to go out with a win and help the Savages finish near the top of the SICL standings.

            “We needed to come out and win and have fun, since this is one of the last times I’ll be playing with all the girls,” senior Brooke Schroeder said after the game.

            The Savages (11-11) did what Schroeder said they set out to do, beating the Warhawks (8-16) in three straight sets, to finish tied for third in the SICL with Lynnville-Sully, at 7-3. The loss dropped North Mahaska to 4-6 in conference play.
