SK has terrific showing against the larger schools in Ottumwa Saturday
OTTUMWA- The Sigourney-Keota Savages were in action at Evans Middle School in Ottumwa on Saturday, Jan. 7 at a tourney hosted by Ottumwa High School. Even though the Savages were the smallest school there, they had a lot of success in the tourney. The teams besides Sigourney-Keota that participated in this event were; Burlington, Des Moines East, Des Moines Lincoln, Fairfield, Iowa City High, Newton and the host Ottumwa.
Noah Boender took first place at 220 lbs., and Noah Reeves did the same at 170 lbs. Alec Schuster (160 lbs.), Kaleb Reeves (195 lbs.), and Nick Ives (132 lbs.) all took third place in their respective weight classes. The following is a complete list of Sigourney-Keota’s wrestler’s who placed in Ottumwa on Saturday. SK had a very good showing against excellent competition on Saturday, as playing up in class will definitely play dividends as far as experience goes for the Savages.
