Two Bears finish in top 10 of SICL meet

The English Valleys cross country team saw some team success on the boys’ side with two of their runners finishing in the top 10 of the SICL meet on October 11 at BGM.

One of the top runners on the team and one of the most experienced boys’ runners in the field, Jacob Glandon, finished runner-up in the meet by running a time of 17:56.2. Bryson Grove, another one of the Bears’ top runners, finished in ninth place after running a time of 19:04.5.

Other English Valleys boys to run were Luis Gonzales (20:44.4) who finished in 24th and Baylor Wiseman (29:39.0) finished in 42nd place.

On the girls’ side, Maddie Koehn finished in the top 10 within the field of 59 girls. Koehn ran a time of 22:46.5, finishing in 10th place. Megan Glandon finished just outside the top 20, running a time of 24:20.0 to take 21st place.

Other Lady Bears to run included Clara Mews (25:15.2) who finished in 32nd place and Nevaeh Briggs (28:47.3) finished in 47th place.

English Valleys will be competing in Iowa City on October 18 for the State Qualifying cross country meet.
