What Cheer man charged with assaulting minor

WHAT CHEER- A What Cheer man is in custody after a Keokuk County Sheriff’s Deputy says that he assaulted a 10-year-old child. Brian William Reeves-Orr, 31, was arrested on April 20th, after authorities were called to a residence in What Cheer. According to a criminal complaint filed by Deputy Jacob Adrian, Reeves-Orr was accused by the child of an assault.


“Upon my arrival the ten-year-old child stated the defendant struck her in the face which resulted in bodily injury by leaving a red mark and pain,” Adrian wrote in the complaint.


Upon further investigation, Adrian wrote, Reeves-Orr admitted to the allegation.


“When asked the defendant admitted to striking the ten-year-old child in the face which created a substantial risk for the ten-year-old child's physical safety,” Adrian wrote.
