Athlete of the Week: Owen Menke

The Athlete of the Week for the week of Feb. 10 is Sigourney wrestler Owen Menke. 

At the class 1A district qualifier meet in Pleasantville Menke was able to win his way to a State tournament appearance. 

Menke won his first round match, but was pinned in the championship match. That didn’t slow the 285-pound wrestler down as he would wrestle in the second place match. There he needed just 36 seconds to pin his opponent and stamp his ticket to the State tournament.
