Third quarters continued to be a bright spot for the Bears as they started their January.

Although the Bears weren’t able to capture a win in their first games of 2025, they were able to come away with two solid third quarter efforts.

On Friday night the Bears took on HLV-TC in a game on the road. In that contest the Bears fell 58-45, but they were able to make things interesting for most of the game.

After a slow start in which the Bears were out scored 17-5, the Bears were able to hold HLV to seven points in the second quarter while scoring 11.

English Valleys continued to chip away at the large lead. The Bears scored 19 points. In the final quarter HLV would hold the Bears to 10 points to gain the victory.

The next night the Bears were back on the road as they took on Danville in a non-conference game.

In the battle of Bear-themed mascots the Danville Bears were able to win 72-44.

Danville raced out to a 40-21 lead at halftime.

Like they had the night before English Valleys was able to have one of their best quarters of the game in the third quarter as they scored 14 points.

Danville pulled away in the fourth quarter to gain the victory.

Kane Axmear was able to lead English Valleys in the game with 16 points. Christian Tripses would add 13 points.

Everett Bender finished with seven points. Tyler Lortz would score six points while Declan Patterson would finish with two points.

Overall English Valleys stands at 0-9 on the season.
