Cobras Split First Bowling Meet of Season Against Centerville

The Cobras started their 2020-2021 season at Keokuk County Bowl last Friday, Dec. 4, at Keokuk County Bowl against the Centerville Big Reds.

 

The boy’s team won their five Baker’s Games 2,187-2,001. (153, 106, 146, 152 and 128)

 

Freshman Cobra Brock Alderson had both the high game and series for the boys.

 

“The boys came in clutch when they had to and finished strong in all parts of the game,” Sigourney-Keota Coach Austin Bruns said.

 

Ty Krueger – 148 & 149 for a 297 series (148 avg.)

Gable Goff – 113 & 138 for a 251 series (125 avg.)

Jordan Shadley – 119 & 96 for a 215 series (107 avg.)

Drew Dobbins – 113 & 112 for a 225 series (112 avg.)

Corran Freel – 142 & 159 for a 301 series (150 avg.)

Brock Alderson – 226 & 202 for a 428 series (214 avg.) 

 

The girl’s team lost 1,826-1,644 to Centerville. The scores of their Baker’s Games were: 112, 119, 66, 168 and 94.

 

Lily VanVoltenburg – 76 & 97 for a 173 series (86 avg.)

Emma Seifert – 71 & 76 for a 147 series (73 avg.)

Dana O’Neill – 110 & 129 for a 239 series (119 avg.)

Sam Bombei – 102 & 126 for a 228 series  (114 avg.)

Hannah Alderson – 143 & 155 for a 298 series  (149 avg.)

 

“Our girls are young, they bowled pretty decent for most of them having their first time out,” Coach Bruns said.
