Doretta Grant, 69

Doretta Grant, age 69, of Ollie, IA peacefully passed away on December 1, 2023 and The University of Iowa Medical Center, surrounded by her husband and children. She was born on March 17, 1954, in Smithville, TN.
Doretta is survived by her beloved husband, Steve, and two loving children, Jennie Marble and Jeffrey Gautreaux. She was grandmother to, Lilah, Keaton, Macie, Charlie, Joe, and Cameron.

Doretta was preceded in death by her mother Doris, her father Paul, her stepfather Carl and her brother, Rodney. Doretta loved cooking for her family, shopping (especially on Zulilly.com) and was a gifted seamstress. She was as a dedicated wife of 39 years to Steve. They have enjoyed a quiet life in lowa for the past 20 years at their beloved home, "Grant Ranch". 

Holm Funeral Home in Sigourney will assist the family in honoring Doretta’s wish to be cremated. There will be a Celebration of Life on Tuesday, December 5, from 4pm to 7pm at The Grant Ranch Pub and Grub, 121 S. Jefferson Street in Sigourney. Family and friends will gather together and share precious memories.

She had a warm presence, unique style and never met a stranger. Her creative spirit and quick wit will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
