Drive-Thru Christmas

Drive-Thru Christmas

“Merry Christmas!” was the message heard this past weekend at the Keokuk County EXPO!

The Sigourney Public Library hosted a Drive-Thru Christmas where participants of all ages could pick up breakfast, tons of goodies, meet Santa, pet a llama, and even see the Grinch and other storybook characters from the safety and comfort of their own vehicles.

This event was enjoyed by all and hosted booths from several community businesses and groups, including County Bank, Midwest One Bank, Legacy Insurance, Mulberry Creek Acres, First Baptist Church, the Keokuk County EXPO Board, Sigourney Police, Keokuk County Ambulance, and Sigourney Fire & Rescue.

Director Kelly said, “It was a smashing success!  Santa handed out over 170 candy canes to the kiddos and over 250 people were able to drive-thru our holiday spectacle.  We are just so glad we were able to bring a little cheer to our community in these difficult times.”

Additional donors include: Holm Funeral Home, Sigourney Body Shop, Copeland Auto Body, John Wehr Law Office, First Resources, Sheets Chiropractic, Wagler Motors, RJ Fry Trucking, The Feathered Farmhouse, Sigourney Café, and First Presbyterian Church.

The library continues to host take-home programs for kids - toddler through sixth grade.

Every Monday at 11:30 a.m. you can catch Miss Amanda “LIVE” on Facebook for story time, songs, and general shenanigans.

Follow the library on Facebook for more events and information on what the librarians are up to.
