KEOTA – Eaglerock, the Keota high school choir, placed first in Class 1A at Illumination 2023, a show choir invitational held at Des Moines Christian on Saturday, January 7. Eaglerock beat 13 other teams. Songs included All Night Long by Buckcherry; Gone, Gone, Gone by Philip Philips; Hand Clap by Fitz and the Tantrums; and Happy Dance by MercyMe. Landyn Greiner and Taylor Garman were named as Outstanding Performers.

Jane Edwards started Eaglerock when she first began teaching at Keota, 27 years ago. Since then, Eaglerock has won countless awards. Keota will host the State Show Choir on Jan. 30, with Keota performing at 3:20 p.m.
