English Valleys Win First Annual Sigourney Invite


Sigourney’s Cain Weber finished his day with an 87, the sixth lowest score of the day

SIGOURENY—On April 19, the Sigourney Savages hosted their first annual 18 hole invitational with English Valleys and Grandview Park Baptist. The Bears took home first with an aggregate score of 341, while the Savages placed second with a score of 349.

English Valley’ Eli Marsh finished as the medalist on the day with a low score of 74. Teammate Gage Heyne tied for runner-up score with an 82. Tyler Lortz shot a 91, while Tyler Ayers shot a 94.

For the Savages, Solon Yates tied for the runner-up position with a score of 82. Freshman Ike Molyneux has the next lowest score with a 84, while Cain Weber ended his day with a 87. Isaac Bruns tallied the final score for the Savages with a 96.

The Sigourney and English Valleys boys golf team will return to action on April 22, when they head back to Sigourney Golf and Country Club for a match with Belle Plaine and Keota.
