Georgia Phyllis Schreiner

OLLIE- Georgia Phyllis Schreiner, 90, of Ollie, died at 8:40 a.m. Aug. 4, 2020 at Sunnybrook Living Care Center in Fairfield.

She was born Nov. 24, 1929 to Kenneth Day and Esther Hayes Day in Hedrick.

She attended the Walden Country School for eight years and graduated from the Ollie Consolidated School with the class of 1946. She attended Iowa Success Business School in Ottumwa and worked for the Andrews Supply Company, Hayesville Savings Bank, and Seiferts Store for Women, Keokuk County Courthouse, Iowa Electric Company and Town Clerk for Ollie.

She married Jack Schreiner of Ollie on March 3, 1948 and he preceded her in death in 2003. They raised three children; Cheryl Brennan of Cape Cod, Mass., Terry (Chris) of Lakeville, Minn., and Randy (Kim) of Ottumwa. She was grandma to eight grandchildren: Andy, Adam, Robin, Michelle, Patrick, Elizabeth, Paige and Kaleigh and five great grandchildren: Bailey, Drew, Chase, Hannah, (Grandson due in Nov 2020). She is survived by a sister, Jo Ann Happle of North Carolina; a brother Rodney (Eileen) Day of Ottumwa.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Gordon Day.

She and her husband enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening and being with their children and grandchildren.

Funeral services held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Prairie View United Methodist Church near Ollie with Pastor Steven Lamb officiating. Burial will be in the Ollie Cemetery.

The family was present from 5 - 7 p.m. Friday at Reece Funeral Home in Ottumwa.
