Grimm Guides Bears to Opening Season Victory

NORTH ENGLISH—The era of Head Coach Brennan Grimm commenced on a high note, as the Bears bested the Calamus-Wheatland Warriors by a final score of 62-48.

Junior Myles Grove was an impact player on both sides of the ball as he rushed for 334 yards, scored four touchdowns, threw for three touchdowns and had a passer rating of 127.7, while leading the defense with 14 total tackles and two sacks.  

Ben Coffman also added 133 yards on the ground as well as securing a rushing touchdown. In total, the Bears out rushed the Warriors by a final total of 481 to 352. 

Defensively, senior Coen Good picked off the Warriors two times, one of which he took back to the house. Junior Drake Axmear another interception for the Bears, as they finished with three total interceptions as a team. 

The Bears secure their first victory under new Head Coach Brennan Grimm, and will look to build off their success, when they visit the Midland Eagles on August 25.
