IOWA – A blizzard swept over Eastern Iowa last week, with heavy snow falling all day on Wednesday, Feb. 16. The town of Sigourney received 6.5 inches, according to the National Weather Service. Single-digit temperatures remained throughout the following week. This blizzard led the City of Sigourney to declare a snow emergency and all five local schools to cancel school on Wednesday and have a two-hour delay on Thursday.
