WAYLAND – Two Panther wrestlers walked away with hardware from a recent tournament.

At the WACO tournament two of the Pekin wrestlers were left standing on the podium at the end of the tournament.

Henry Adam led the Panthers at the tournament with a third place finish in the 165-pound bracket.

Adam started his day with a pin in the first period over a WACO opponent. After being pinned by a Wapello opponent in the semifinal, Adam was able to pin an English Valleys opponent in the first period.

Landon Crow would place sixth in the 157-pound bracket.

Crow was defeated in the quarterfinals, but would pin a Wapello opponent in the consolation semifinals. Crow battled, but was pinned in the fifth place match by a Washington opponent.

Earlier in the week the Panthers wrestled against Lone Tree. In that dual they fell 41-18.

Zach Droud won in the 138-pound match with a pin in the first period.

Crow also earned a first period pin in his 165-pound match.

Brantyn Sieren won his heavyweight match via forfeit.

Thursday night the Pekin boys also wrestled against Burlington-Notre Dame, but fell in that match 84-0.
