SIGOURNEY—The SK soccer team hosted their second home game of the week, this one against the Highland Huskies. The SK soccer team fell to the Huskies by a final score of 2-1.

The SK soccer team started the game on the attacking side with Ayden Galindo being the main target of through balls. Finally, sophomore Gavin Kahli found Galindo streaking past the defenders. Galindo snuck the ball into the bottom right corner, right past the out-stretched arms of the Highland goalie, and gave the SK soccer team a 1-0 lead. This was Galindo’s first goal of the season.

The Sk soccer team took the 1-0 lead into the second half, when the Huskies finally found the back of the net nine minutes into the second half.

The Huskies smelled the blood in the water and kept on the heavy offensive attack. They eventually found the back of the net once again in the 60th minute.

The SK team did not go out without swinging. In the final ten minutes of play, the SK soccer team found themselves in the Highland box on multiple occasions. They were unable to find the goal they needed in those offensive efforts, and lost the Huskies by a final score of 2-1.

The SK soccer team falls to 1-3 on the season, and will return to action on April 16, when they visit Chariton.
