Individual Speech Students Receive Perfect Scores At State

CEDAR RAPIDS – The Southeast Iowa Individual Speech State Contest was held at Xavier High School in Cedar Rapids on March 9. At the state level, students are judged by three judges. Students who receive at least two I ratings and recommendations from two different judges move on to the All-State Festival. Students receiving perfect ratings of three Is include:

 

English Valleys

Keegan Burdick - Musical Theatre: “Screw Loose” from “Cry-Baby.”

Stacia Linder - Original Oratory: “Under the Influence.”

Pekin

Kaleigh Adrian - Storytelling: “Where the Wild Things Are.”

Bella Earnest - Prose: “The Lunch Table” by Bella Earnest.

Bella Earnest - Musical Theatre: “Right Hand Man” from “Something Rotten.”

Alisia Brock - Storytelling: “Love You Forever.”

Tri-County

Wesley Davis - Prose: “The Day Dad Made Toast” by Sarah Durkee.

 

Students receiving two Is and one II, for an overall I rating, include:

Pekin

Lilian Buie - Musical Theatre: “As Long As He Needs Me” from “Oliver.”

Brinley Phillips - Musical Theatre: “The History of Wrong Guys” from Kinky Boots.
