Keota Commences Track Season at Grinnell Meet


Keota’s Kimberley Clarahan bolted to a second place finish in the 60 meter hurdles

GRINNELL—The Keota Eagles track teams opened up their season with a SICL Meet at Grinnell College on March 18.

Kimberly Clarahan was the highlight for the Eagles’ girls track team, as she took home second place in the 60 meter hurdles with a time of 10.91.

In the long jump event, Izzi Chalupa placed third, while Olivia Lyle took home fourth as well.

Lyle also finished in fourth place in the 40 meter dash with a time of 8.78.

For the boys, Ayden Galindo placed fifth in the long jump with a longest jump recorded at 5-08.00. 

Gavin Sieren finished his day in the long jump event in eighth place with a longest jump recorded at 17-04.00.

The girls will return to action on March 26, when they head to Belle Plaine. The boys return on March 21, when they head to Washington high school.
