MONTEZUMA – The No. 7 ranked team in class 1A turned out to be too much for Keota.

Friday night the Keota girls were able to start their 2025 portion of the schedule with a contest against No. 7 (1A) ranked Montezuma.

The Bravettes were able to best the Eagles 63-35.

For most of the first half the Eagles were able to stay within striking distance of the Bravettes. However, a 17-point second quarter, coupled with a 19-point third quarter, proved to be the difference.

Keota did outscore Montezuma 10-9 in the final frame.

No scoring stats were reported at press time.

Keota moves to 2-7 overall on the year.
