Keota Host First Annual 18 Hole Invitational


Keota’s Cole Kindred finished his day with a team low score of 78

KEOTA—On April 10, the Keota Eagles boys golf team hosted the Sigourney Savages, the English Valleys Bears, the HLV Warriors, Iowa Valley and the Belle Plaine Plainsmen.

The Eagles finished their round in first place with an aggregate score of 325. The Savages took home the silver with a team score of 339. The English Valleys Bears, led by the runner-up Eli Marsch and third place finisher Gage Heyne, tied HLV for third place with a 340.

The Keota Eagles were led by senior Cole Kindred, who had a team low score of 78. Sawyer Stout and Brennan McGuire both finished their 18 holes with a score of 82. Lastly for the team’s score, Billie Kindred tallied an 83.

The Savages took home second place with sophomore Solon Yates continuing his hot start with a final score of 77, the team low for the Savages. Josh Wyatt and Brock Alderson tied for the second best round for the team with an 87 apiece. Freshman Ike Molyneux recorded the last score for the second place Savages with a 88.

The English Valleys Bears had their top two golfers finish with top three finishes. Eli Marsh had the team low with a 75 for a runner-up finish, while teammate Gage Heyne ended his round in third place with a 76. Luke Moore wrapped up his day with a 93, while fellow senior Myles Grove tallied a 96.

The Sigourney golf team head back to action on April 15, when they host a quad with Keota, Montezuma and North Mahaska.

The Keota Eagles head to Lynnville-Sully on April 12 for a quad with PCM, Lynnville-Sully and Albia.

The English Valleys boys return to action on April 12, when they host a triangular with Highland and Lone Tree.
