Sigourney senior Reid Molyneux had a storybook ending to his career in Sigourney with securing the program’s first state tournament berth and being named to the Class 1A All-State Team

Caden Clarahan:

Junior Caden Clarahan once again displayed his prowess as a pitcher and a batter throughout the duration of the 2024 baseball season.

In Class 1A, he smacked the second most home runs (six), tallied the 11th most total bases (64) and struck out the 33rd most batters (71).

Clarahan also finished in the top ten of three separate batting statistics in all classes: fifth in on-base percentage (0.889), seventh in batting average (0.649) and 10th in slugging (0.889). On top of that, his 42 RBIs was the 18th most in all classes as well.

This was only Clarahan’s junior season, so he will look to build off the spectacular campaign when he returns for his junior season.

Reid Molyneux:

Sigourney senior Reid Molyneux finished a prolific athletic career as a Savage with a selection to the Class 1A First All-State Team.

As a batter, he finished with a batting average of 0.361 and 22 runs batted in. His seven doubles was the second most of the team.

As a pitcher, Molyneux held a 6-1 record with 29 innings pitched, 56 strikeouts, 2.90 ERA and an opponent batting average of 0.154.

Molyneux made a miraculous comeback to play the baseball season after an injury during preseason football, and wrapped his athletic career as a Savage on high note with a selection to the Class 1A First All-State Team.
