Sigourney:

On May 30, the Sigourney Savages visited the Davis County Mustangs for a non-conference matchup. The Mustangs beat the Savages by a final score of 11-3. 

The Savages win streak ends at four games. They sit at 5-2 on the season, and will return to action on May 31, when they host the Iowa Valley Tigers.

On June 2, the Sigourney baseball team visited the Colfax-Mingo Tigerhawks. The Savages trounced the Tigerhawks by a final score of 14-0.

The explosive Savages offense was once again bolstered by senior Max Phillips, who knocked in three runners on the day. The Savages offense also had six other players tally an RBI for the day.

Reid Molyneux and Ty Shafranek combined for five innings with no earned runs on two hits and ten strikeouts. Both pitchers were locked in. Shafranek only allowed an opposing batting average of .143, while Molnyeux’s was at .100.

The Savages advance to 7-2 on the season, and will return to action on May 5, when they host the undefeated Lynnville-Sully Hawks. 

Keota:

On May 30, the Keota Eagles hosted the Belle Plaine Plainsmen. The Eagles fell to the Plainsmen by a final score of 13-3.

Aidan Anderson, Aiden McGuire and Chase Sieren each knocked in a run on the day.

The Eagles fall to 3-4 on the season, and will return to action on May 31, when they visit the English Valleys Bears. 

On June first, the Keota Eagles made the trip to New London high school for a SICL matchup. The Eagles beat the Tigers by a final score of 12-2. 

The Eagles found themselves in a 1-0 hole after an inning of play. They responded with two runs in the third and fourth, then an explosive fifth inning, in which they scored nine runs. They added another in the sixth en route to the 12-2 victory.

The offense had three separate athletes tally three runs batted in on the day: Cole Kindred, Aiden McGuire and Caleb Waterhouse. Chase Sieren had two RBIs as well, and Aiden Anderson had one, as well as scoring three runs. 

The Eagles push to 5-4 on the season, and will return to action on June 5, when they host the North Mahaska Warhawks.

English Valleys:

The English Valleys Bears visited the North Mahaska Warhawks for a SICL matchup. The Warhawks bested the Bears by a final score of 13-2.

The two runs for the Bears were batted in by Ty Ayers and Luke Moore, both were by singles. 

The Bears fall to 0-4 on the season, and will return to action on May 30, when they visit the Iowa Valley Tigers.

The English Valleys Bears visited the Iowa Valleys Tigers on May 30 for a SICL matchup. The Bears fell to the Tigers by a final score of 15-0.

The Bears fall to 0-5 on the season, and will return to action on May 31, when they host the Keota Eagles.  

On June 2, the English Valleys Bears visited the BGM Bears. BGM bested English Valleys by a final score of 12-1.

English Valleys falls to 0-7 on the season, and will return to action on June 5, when they host the HLV Warriors. 

Pekin:

The Pekin Panthers visited the Hillcrest Academy Ravens on May 30 for a SEISC-North matchup. The Panthers were defeated by the Ravens by a final score of 17-2.

The Panthers fall to 1-5 on the season, and will return to action on June 1, when they host the Lone Tree Lions.

On June first, the Pekin Panthers hosted the Lone Tree Lions for a SEISC-North matchup. The Panthers pounced on the Lions by a final score of 10-8. 

The Panthers jumped out to a 5-0 lead after two innings. The Lions retook the lead in the fifth with four runs. The Panthers rescinded with two runs of their own to retake the lead, and the Lions returned three more runs in the top of the sixth. This back and forth ended with Lions being up 8-7 in the bottom of the seventh. The Panthers scored three in the bottom of the seventh to secure the 10-7 victory.

The Panthers advance to 2-5 on the season, and will return to action on May 5, when they host the Van Buren County Warriors.
