LISBON—On September 27, the #4 ranked Pekin Panthers visit the #5 ranked Lisbon Tigers with hopes of playing spoiler on Senior Night. The Panthers were unable to play spoilers, as they fell to the Tigers by a final score of 28-15.

It was a tough day for the Panthers offense, as they only totaled 262 yards. Their potent rushing attack was held to only 72 yards on 30 carries, which is a yards per carry of 2.4.

The Panthers did not find pay dirt until the third quarter. They converted their two point conversion and found themselves back in the game at 21-8.

They were unable to mount the comeback from there, as both teams scored seven points in the fourth quarter.

The bright spot for the Panthers offense was sophomore Alijah Brock, who had 137 yards receiving and touchdown on three receptions.

The Panthers drop their first game of the season, and fall to ninth in Class A, according to Varsity Bound.

They will return to action on October 4, when they host the Cardinal Comets.
