Pekin Hosts Grade Races in Fairfield


Pekin senior Renae Eubanks placed second in the senior race for the girls

FAIRFIELD—On September 28, the Pekin Panthers cross country teams hosted the Grade Races in Fairfield. The Panthers boys took home first place in the sophomore division with an aggregate score of four.

For the seniors, Renae Eubanks finished in second place, as did Dylan Sobaski for the boys.

For the juniors, the boys finished in second with seven points. Cole Millikin took home the gold, while Connor Cloyd finished in sixth. Abby Guise was the lone Pekin female junior and finished in third.

The Pekin sophomore boys were led by Mason Dahlstrom (1st), Lane Fariss (3rd) and Brody Sobaski (5th). Hayden Miller also earned eight place, while Clayton Harvery placed 10th. Wyatt Brown was the final Pekin male sophomore to cross the finish line in 12th.

The Pekin sophomore girls earned second with 10 points. Maddy Peterhn finished in fourth. Brinley Phillips and Callie Deutschle finished back to back in sixth and seventh.

For the freshman boys, they earned third place with nine points. Sam Hall finished in second place, while Liam Guise finished in seventh.

Pekin only had one female freshman runner, Harer Guise, and she finished in fifth place.
