Pekin Hosts Wildwood Meet, Take Home Third

OTTUMWA—On September 5, the Pekin Panthers boys and girls cross country teams hosted the 2024 Wildwood Meet. Both teams secured third place finishes with the boys scoring 82 points and the girls finished with 96.

The Sigourney girls cross country team shined despite only having four athletes. All four of those runners secured Top 50 positions. Addison Yates led the charge with a fifth place finish with a time of 22:13.25. Newcomer, Brynna Clarahan shined with a seventh place finish in 22:39.47.Ellie Yates placed 13th with a time of 23:11.96, and Cloee Wilson finished in 49th with a time of 28:29.25.

For the Sigourney boys, Troy Klett earned eight place with a time of 18:52.30. Levi Meyers earned a 42nd place finish with a time of 21:48.81. 

The Pekin Panthers girls team was led by senior Chloe Glosser, who breezed to a first place finish with a time of 20:02.69. Abby Guise also earned a Top 20 finish with a time of 24:09.82 for a 18th place finish.

The Panther boys were led by #11 ranked in Class 1A Mason Dahlstrom, who bolted his way to a fourth place finish with a time of 18:18.80. The #7 ranked runner in Class 1A, Cole Milikin finished in seventh place with a time of 18:38.90.

The last three runners for the Panthers finished as follows: 23rd Sam Hall, 41st Dyland Sobaski and 50th Mason Dahlstrom.
