PACKWOOD – The Pekin School Board is set to vote on a new calendar at the Monday, Feb. 10 board meeting, which will potentially include a switch to a four-day school week. Back in 2024, the board voted against switching to a four-day week, despite a slight majority of Pekin staff, students and parents being in favor of the switch, arguing that the district needed more time to plan for the change. Board meetings begin at 6:00 p.m., in the high school library. Members of the public are generally allowed a few minutes of public comment at the start of the meeting. The meeting will be live-streamed on the district’s Facebook page.
