Savages rally, beat Eagles in walk-off fashion

Sigourney fell behind as many as two runs early on against the Keota Eagles on June 4. A successful rally would end up sending their game into extra innings, where Mac Conrad delivered the final blow in a 4-3 victory.

Keota and Sigourney would match scores at 1-1 through the first and Keota would tack on another pair of runs through the fourth inning. Sigourney got their offense clicking in the bottom of the fourth, getting those two runs back to tie the score back up 3-3.

Josh Mohr and Nick Goad teamed up to pitch six innings, allowing six hits and four walks while striking out six. Fast forward to the ninth inning, the second extra inning of the ballgame. Conrad is now on the mound, pitching his third inning and has yet to allow a hit. Keota got on board after a walk but wouldn’t get any closer than second base after Conrad induced a groundout to end the threat.

Sigourney led off with Cade Streigle who struck out, followed by Dustin Haines who made it to first with an infield hit, beating out the throw to first. Haines then stole second and made it to third after Nick Goad grounded into a fielders choice. Their scoring chances would end with Brock Halleran striking out.

Conrad had some trouble early in the 10th, hitting the first batter, but bounced back with a strikeout. He would end up getting out of the jam with a groundout and strikeout to keep Sigourney’s chances alive going into the bottom half of the third extra inning.
