Savages Stomp Huskies

RIVERSIDE—On June 27, the Sigourney Savages visited the Highland Huskies for a non-conference matchup. The Savages stormed past the Huskies by a final score of 10-1.

The Savages ripped off five runs in the first and third innings. The offense was led by Caden Clarahan and Issac Bruns. Both smacked three run home runs.

Ty Shafranek got the start from the bump, and pitched two innings with no earned runs on one hit and three strikeouts. Caden Clarahan came in relief in the third, and went four and two-thirds innings pitched with no earned runs on three hits and six strikeouts. Solon Yates came in for the final batter, and struck him out to secure the 10-1 victory for the Savages.

The Savages push to 15-6 on the season, and will return to action on June 28, when they face the Central City Wildcats at Mount Mercy University.
